We Should All Be Feminists // Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
TedxEuston // 2013
The writer, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has become of the fresh new voices breathing life into the feminist agenda. I first discovered her as a novelist, writing compelling and utterly gripping books using the Nigerian middle classes as her inspiration. However, with the TEDx talk, We Should All Be Feminists, she achieved a global reach that few writers could aspire to. I loved this speech because it spoke volumes to me, as a man. It allowed me a space to be a feminist without being ostracized for my own gender. It promotes an ideal social environment in which girls and boys are re-educated, allowed to be brought up without the restrictions of either gender stereotype.
